Compare HL7 messages field by field
One message works and another is rejected. Line them up by field, find the differences, and copy a report to share with your vendor.

Try it yourself
- Select one message, then Ctrl-click the other to compare them.
- Review the differences list, including each field name and both values.
- Turn off Line changes to highlight only the fields that differ.
- Click a difference to jump to it, then use the arrows to copy a value across and test a fix.
- Choose Copy report to paste a table of differences into an email, spreadsheet, or ticket.

0:00Same patient, same admission. The old system's message goes through, but the new system's gets rejected. Can you spot the difference?
0:08Select one message, then Ctrl-click the other, to compare them. HL7 Soup lines them up field by field, and lists every difference. Turn off line changes, and only the fields that differ stay highlighted.
0:21There it is. The date of birth is in the wrong format, sex is empty, and there's no visit number.
